You cannot teach adults the same way you teach children

Adults have different needs, wants and motivations. Unlike young learners they come to a foreign language programme with very high expectations and greater demands for quality and a quick return. They have less time, patience or perseverance to go through a lengthy programme and usually come to class after a long day at work, ready to drop off at a moment's notice! 

This short 30-hour update course offered by CELT Athens deals with demands and requirements of teaching and supporting adult learners and introduces the teacher to a wide range of techniques, which will ensure faster results, and a rate of acquisition that satisfies the adult as a client.

	Introducing Adults to new methods and techniques of learning a foreign language.

Teaching Practice
Course participants will have the opportunity to observe experienced tutors teach adult classes at CELT Athens as well as teaching adult classes themselves at two different levels of instruction

ASSESSMENT & CERTIFICATION
The course is assessed by materials portfolio or lesson design and Teaching Practice. A Certificate of Attendance is awarded to those who complete the course assignments & Teaching Practice and attend fully.
