Course Organisation

The course cycle comprises 90 hours of seminar  work, as well as additional hours of self-access study. It is usually organised as a part-time course during the school year. Two options are offered:

Face to Face course - Seminars are held at CELT.

Online Course - Seminars are held on line in a virtual classroom - not by correspondence via e-mail, so the same topics and number of contact hours are covered as with the face-to-class,.

To participate on an online course, you need to have access to the web and a fast connection, a headset, a webcam and (ideally) a PC or laptop with a good graphics card.

Who can apply to attend

All applicants must have completed their secondary level education and have a level of English that allows them to follow the course. This is determined by an internally set examination and personal interview.

The course is also suitable for both native and non-native English TEFL teachers  who have not been taught English Grammar and would like to prepare for a CELTA or DELTA course.

Trainees who have attended this course DO NOT need to attend Module II to prepare for ASEP examinations.

The Language Awareness course is also excellent as language preparation for those who wish to later join full methodology courses such as the Cambridge CELTA or the Cambridge DELTA Diploma or the Diploma in Translation Course or, even, to prepare for academic work in an English speaking university.
