A 20-hour update course

Exam preparation classes (FCE, CPE, Michigan, PALSO) can become more rewarding to teach and motivating for your learners through a range of activities and tasks which also build their language skills and help them deal with their examinations successfully. The course is aimed at experienced teachers who have followed a basic methodology programme in the past. For this reason, the list of topics allows some flexibility to the course tutor to add or expand on areas of interest to each group of participants.

During the 20 hours of seminar work, participants will concentrate on some of the problematic areas that tend to cause anxiety to most language teachers and learners. Sessions will include work in the following areas:  

	The management of Exam Preparation Courses
	Creating and  maintaining a supportive & motivating learning environment
	Revising and extending learners? vocabulary
	Training learners to deal with difficult spoken and written text

	Development of effective oral communication skills
	Advanced writing skills
	Training and developing learners? examination skills
	Using published materials
	Designing/adapting your own materials
	Proficiency specials: Reading & writing

Assessment is by Lesson Planning Assignment.
