Cambridge Delta Online Sessions Summer 2020

Teacher training and Development

Cambridge Delta Online Sessions Summer 2020

This summer, contrary to our own tradition, we are offering Module 2 candidates the opportunity to complete some or all the seminar input online.

We would dearly love to be able to offer our usual 6 week in-person course but these are hard times and a longer term course taught remotely seems the more appropriate solution for the time being. We hope that breakthroughs in science will allow educators to resume their lives as before, but for those who are keen to keep up with their Delta work, online is a great solution as well.

Here is why

  • You can attend the full course (all three modules) or modules of your choice.
  • We have years of experience of running Delta courses of all types since 1993
  • We have been offering our online/blended version since 2014 with excellent results

All Modules Integrated Course

Please consider following our integrated blended course with online webinars, tutorials and workshops and face–to-face teaching when the situation permits you to travel to Athens and be safe. You can complete the input for all three Modules completely online and only come to Greece when it’s safe for you to travel.

We would like to start this course soon and for this reason we encourage you to check out dedicated course page to check out our new dates for integrated (all 3-module courses) and by individual module starting in July here

I am a CELTA holder. What should I do to teach CELTA?

    • Dear Emad,
In order to become a CELTA tutor, you need to complete your Delta at least! Cambridge does not approve of people being accepted as trainers in training unless they have this qualification and many good CELTA tutors these days also have M.A’s in related fields.
You also need to put some teacher training experience under your belt and to find a centre which will undertake to train you up and allow you to work with them, at least on a number of courses.
After your Delta, the Train the Trainer course may also be a good idea to do to improve your understanding of what it takes to be trainer of teachers.

    Hello Marisa,
I hope you are well.I’d like to know more about the delivery of DELTA module 2 online due to the COVID 19 situation. As It is not clear .
    Under normal circumstances you are operating as follows ;
Allow me to quote “Under normal conditions, our candidates write their assignments while away/at home and come to Athens to teach our classes for their Teaching Practicum, usually in May, July or November. Individual arrangements with local or overseas candidates are also possible.”
How will you operate it now ?
I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
    Regards from Egypt,
    Ahmed ElSaadany

    • Dear Ahmed,
Thank you for your interest – in the past, we used to visit classes of trainees rather than offer classes at CELT. Given the current situation, this is a practice we are reconsidering. Is that possible in your case?
Anyway I will also message you via email so we can perhaps have a chat about how this could be done.
      All the best
      Marisa

    • Delta now fully online until June 2021
