Have you been thinking of following a Cambridge Delta course but dread the assignment writing?
We teach people to write but we don’t necessarily practise our own writing!
Writing long academic essays is not what we are used to doing and many teacher colleagues enrolling on higher level courses such as the Cambridge Delta find it hard!
Over the many years of supporting teachers on the Cambridge Delta course, we have noticed that while most of these teachers have the knowledge and experience required, they still find it difficult to put their ideas down and organise their thoughts in a manner that is appropriate to a Delta written assignment.
We have therefore designed this short online course focusing specifically on writing a Delta essay. The course covers the following topics:
- Structure and content of the Delta essay
- Academic writing conventions
- Selecting appropriate topics
- Defining your terms and using terminology accurately
- Using appropriate cohesive devices
- Summarising and evaluating research
- Describing teaching and learning problems
- Describing and evaluating classroom procedures
This short course is intended for teachers who will be enrolling for a Delta course soon or teachers already attending a Delta course, who feel they need extra support with their writing.
